WHAT DOES A HOMEBOUND FRIENDS SESSION LOOK LIKE?
Typically a session lasts for 1 hour.
The first 30 minutes is for uplifting of the spirit, the "visiting" part, sharing conversation, an enjoyable snack, and us listening to our Homebound Friend talk about their life. We find that their stories are quite interesting and they love to tell them! It is a good thing.
The second 30 minutes is for the massage part, physical comfort, soothing and relaxing the body, mind and spirit. This is a quieter time. The power of healing touch is experienced as they listen to their familiar, favorite music playing softly in the background. We apply gentle, soothing touch, enhanced by lovely lotions, allowing the feeling of peace and well being to surface. It is a good thing.
Please note that because most seniors/patients/disabled are not feeling their best and are perhaps aging, recovering from a surgery, an illness or they are not that active nor up to full strength anymore, so this is why we recommend 30 minutes of massage only. You know best of course, so depending on circumstances and the doctor’s orders, we are always negotiable on time.
We customize each session according to our loved ones needs. They can sit and converse about art, or sports or news or tell us their stories and munch too; all while we massage their feet and hands... you get the idea. We bring the preferred treats/eats, music, lovely lotions, massage table (if needed), so there is nothing to worry about.
